Key Responsibilities

• Observe Dynacare and provincial rules while collecting specimens, including blood draws (venipuncture).
• Accurately and effectively prepare, label, and process laboratory samples.
• Check patient data and keep accurate records.
• Treat all patients, especially young and elderly ones, with professionalism and compassion.
• Keep the work areas in the laboratory tidy and orderly.
• Assist medical personnel and laboratory technologists as needed
• For data entry and reporting, use laboratory information systems.

Qualifications & Requirements for Lab Assistant

• A medical laboratory assistant or technician diploma or certificate.
• It is advantageous to be certified by CSMLS or the appropriate provincial agency.
• Excellent organisational and detail-orientated skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
